When you change the way
you look at things
the things you look at change.

Our Belief

“If you can Google it, don’t do it” is what drives DG Creative Services. A legacy of over 10 product launches and 8 magazine launches, plus the communication to promote them, have convinced us about the efficacy of often overlooked BTL activities. The unusual lessons from publishing and advertising have taught us to combine the urgency of news with the imagery of advertising.

Our objective is to make sure that all our creatives are based on user insights. We analyse information, write content, curate stories, and design them according to the uniqueness of the specific medium and its users.

A random glance at the case studies and work will reveal the scope and depth on offer and how non-mainstream output can be vigorous, rigorous, and outstandingly memorable. A demonstration of our belief –

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Our Clients Speak

We have worked with Arindam, the founder of DGCS. It has been a very good experience. To deliver as per expectations, he spends a lot of time with the client to thoroughly understand the requirement and goes through several iterations till the design is finalized. The creativity and finesse of the final output is much appreciated. Besides creating our brochures, DGCS designed our coffee table book which was launched during the inauguration of the 75th batch of PGEMP. Arindam was personally involved at every stage of the process. He not only worked on the design, but also put together stories after interviewing several stakeholders. The right sentiment was picked out from each interview and converted into engaging stories that highlighted the programme philosophy and delivered the brand message most effectively.

DG Creative Services’ exceptional work on the guidelines created for our house journal set the tone for the new template. Their thorough analysis and post-mortem of three years’ worth of back issues demonstrated their commitment to understanding the limitations, strengths, and opportunities for the publication. Throughout the project, DG Creative Services explored various storytelling formats that could be easily replicated, ensuring consistent and engaging content. This approach not only broadened the in-house journal’s readership but also enriched the publication with diverse perspectives. Moreover, DG Creative Services developed comprehensive guidelines for text, pictures, and layouts for the in-house journal. These guidelines provided clear directions and standards for content creation, photography, and overall design, resulting in a cohesive and visually appealing publication. Their attention to detail and meticulous planning greatly contributed to the professional and polished look of the magazine.

It has been a great experience to work with DG creative services and Arindam in particular. The efforts that he puts into understanding the requirements and the perspective behind the work are really outstanding. Also, the way he uses his creativity to bring out the message is really appreciable. He was able to do the project on a turnkey basis. Not only did he design our website and brochure, but also guided us with the photo shoot and connected us with the right vendors to ensure perfect printing and execution.

Arindam from DGCS is a thorough professional, and it has been a delight to work with him when he helped design our IPL valuation report and other reports related to IPL. His team’s commitment to deadlines and patience is exemplary and they have turned around projects on very short notice.

Arindam can provide his own perspective from his past experience while designing any marketing collateral and those insights have been very useful in planning our external communications.

We wish him and DGCS all best for all his future endeavours and look forward to working with him soon.

I have known Arindam and DGCS since 2017. At that point in time I was with SPJIMR, Mumbai and heading the institute’s journal – SAMVID. We were looking for an experienced designing agency for the Journal. I must say, DGCS did a marvellous job, beyond my expectation. The design of the journal was liked by all stakeholders, including our erstwhile Dean, faculty and customers.

At that point in time, I was also in-charge of the Global Management Program (GMP) at SPJIMR, which was not as well-known as the flagship PGDM program. It required intensive marketing with impressive design, not only for the GMP web page, but also for brochures, standees, posters and digital marketing initiatives.

I largely depended on DG Creative Services and Arindam. DGCS played an instrumental role in repositioning the brand of the GMP program through strategic inputs and design that enabled us to enhance the brand equity of the GMP program to a large extent.

I have seen Arindam working very closely. He is very passionate about his work. Every design that he and his team develop, have a divine touch that is appealing to all stakeholders. However, to get the maximum benefits from DGCS’s creative work, one needs to spare time to explain the concept, requirement, stakeholders and potential customers for whom it is targeted. Once Arindam gets the holistic picture, he creates wonders.

I have not seen many people in the creative space as talented as him.

My brief to DGCS was to create an impactful media pack, which is the most important sales tool sent out to advertisers. It must have a wow and pull factor. DGCS overturned the conventional thinking of a standard media pack by replicating the newspaper itself. I loved the innovative idea but was doubtful if it could be pulled off. But as we broke down the content it looked achievable and the product was both impactful and very professionally done. I would highly recommend DG Creative Services to anyone who is looking for any original out of the box creative product/service to be created. Needless to say, excellent and timely service.

FAQs

Providing Clarity into how we solve Your Creative Needs

Design is a process that offers a creative solution to a problem and should not be confused with art, photography, colour, etc.

We start and rest our case with this section from Milton Glaser’s conversation with Anne Qito on October 31, 2016.

Design is not art. Design is the process of going from an existing condition to a preferred one. Design is often associated with art which defeats the aim of design. When art and design are confused, the designers’ domain becomes limited. In truth, good designers are primarily problem solvers. They seek to understand the purpose, audience, technical parameters, and strategic nuances of an assignment before starting a project. Next time you work with a designer, start with an overview of your goals, before diving into a discussion about colours, fonts, or materials.
It’s necessary to understand that design has a purpose and art has another purpose. Art’s power is mysterious and cannot be quantified, he explained, while design’s efficacy is measured by how well it delivers on a client’s goal.

Design thinking is a problem-solving approach that involves empathy for the user, creative ideation, and experimentation to create innovative solutions. The goal of design thinking is to understand the user’s needs and come up with solutions that are both innovative and practical. This is a concept that was popularized by IDEO in 1991.

The five steps of the design thinking process are:

Empathize: This means understanding the user’s needs and motivations through research and observation. This can be done through interviews, surveys, and other methods.

Define: The problem is clearly defined based on the research and insights gathered in the first step. This helps to ensure that the team is working on solving the right problem.

Ideate: This step involves generating as many ideas as possible to solve the problem. The objective is to come up with as many alternative solutions as possible, without evaluating them.

Prototype: In this step, the team creates a rough model of the solution to test and evaluate.

Test: In the final step, the prototype is tested with real users to gather feedback and insights. This feedback is used to refine and improve the solution.

This iterative process may involve repeating some steps or going back to earlier steps as needed. The goal is to come up with a solution that meets the user’s needs and is feasible to implement.

Some of the benefits of design thinking include:

  • Encourages creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. This can lead to more creative and innovative solutions.
  • Since Design thinking puts the user at the center of the problem-solving process, it helps to ensure that the solution meets the user’s needs and addresses their pain points.
  • Builds collaboration by bringing together people from different disciplines and backgrounds to work on a problem and change workplace culture. This can foster collaboration and teamwork within the organization.
  • The iterative nature of design thinking allows the team to learn, and gather feedback and insights which helps to ensure that the final solution is practical and feasible to implement.

Design thinking can be used to solve a wide range of problems, from improving existing products and services to developing new ones. Here are some examples of how design thinking can be used.

Improving customer experience: Design thinking can be used to understand the needs and pain points of customers, and develop solutions that improve their experience with a product or service. Refer to the Autocar case study >

Solving complex problems: Design thinking can be used to approach complex problems in a structured, iterative way. This can help teams to break down the problem into manageable parts and generate creative solutions.

Facilitating collaboration and teamwork: Design thinking encourages collaboration and teamwork, which can help to foster a positive work culture and improve communication and coordination within the organization. Refer to the Indian Oil Newsletter case study >

Creative services: Design thinking can be used to generate concepts and ideas for marketing new products and services because it is built on insights and driven by the user. Most memorable, timeless and sticky marketing and advertising communications use design thinking.

Creative Services offer creativity to other businesses. They ‘do creativity’ to order. Creative Services also mean work such as writing, designing, and production. It is often a subset of Marketing. Most businesses will look to a creative agency that can generate ideas for them as well as oversee the rollout of a media campaign. Creative Services essentially mean the generation of concepts and ideas which can include concept work, idea creation, scripting, treatments, storyboarding, animation, production, post-production, in short, the preparation of all deliverables across media.

“If you can Google it, don’t do it” is what drives DG Creative Services. A legacy of over 10 product launches and 8 magazine launches, plus the communication to promote them, has convinced us about the efficacy of often overlooked BTL activities. The unusual lessons from publishing and advertising have taught us to combine the urgency of news with the imagery of advertising.

We create and structure content around changing reader habits, shorter attention spans, and dependency on Google to create a richer, more satisfying reading experience. Brand stories become memorable, distinctive, relevant, and sustainable without compromising brand values. This perspective changes both internal and external communication from being time-bound and disposable to being memorable and handy reference material.

We try to ensure that everything we do is based on user insights. The information is carefully curated and showcased according to the uniqueness of the specific medium and its users. Suddenly, activities like ads, brochures, newsletters, house magazines, coffee table books, and information for internal and external consumption not only take on a new avatar but also go a long way in ensuring a positive experience.

Our strength lies in combining the urgency and topicality of news with the imagery of advertising. We go to great lengths to ask questions so that we can understand things better. It’s only then that we can work together and design communication that can make a difference. We love it when design is intuitive, inviting, and simple, but we really love it when design helps businesses grow.

We are a small team of work-from-home professionals. It simply cuts overhead with no effect on quality or deadlines. A team of 4 layout artists, 3 writers, 1 illustrator, 1 infographic specialist, 1 web designer, and 1 imaging person, plus a bank of illustrators, photo-editors, copy editors, sub-editors, designers, and printers, helps us maintain quality and meet deadlines. Developing a delivery-friendly infrastructure is an ongoing process here. Proper infrastructural backing helps us deliver quality work on time each time.

Since DG Creative Services believes that nothing beats personal attention and care, each and every work is personally attended to by Mahua and Arindam. Moreover, each of our professionals, such as designers, illustrators, layout artists, imaging artists, writers, and editors, is carefully handpicked according to the project.

Since we value ideas the most, our team is briefed in detail before they start any project. Every idea is explored around the target audience it’s supposed to cater to and the client’s briefing before it is presented. The end result, very obviously, is a host of happy clients and colleagues all around.

DG Creative Services believes that educational, financial, industrial, and other non-glamorous industries and services can be as exciting as fashion and need to resonate better with consumers. We believe that using insights can make all the difference.

We offer thoughtful solutions that are classical and timeless in their approach and not based on trends. Newsletters, brochures, giveaways, and other activities like coffee table books can build communities, become great marketing tools, and make a huge difference to the user experience.
